Update to Investors in the Shield Master Fund

ASIC is investigating investments in the Shield Master Fund, obtaining Federal Court orders to freeze assets linked to key individuals and companies. FD Legal awaits the outcome.

ASIC has taken further steps to investigate the circumstances of investments being made into the Shield Master Fund.  On 26 February 2025 ASIC obtained orders in the Federal Court freezing assets of individuals and companies in connection with the Shield Master Fund, namely:

  • Ferras Merhi, Venture Egg Financial Services Pty Ltd (formerly Ferras Merhi Pty Ltd) & United Financial Advice Pty Ltd, trading as Venture Egg and Financial Services Group Australia Pty Ltd; and
  • Osama Saad a former director of Aus Super Compare Pty Ltd (in liquidation) and Atlas Marketing Pty Ltd (in liquidation).
